Your daily Etsy check

What the Today page is for, how it differs from the Etsy dashboard, what each card is asking you to do, and why an empty page is a good result.

Your daily Etsy check

Today (/etsy/today) answers one question: what is worth doing in this shop right now. It is the five minute version.

How it differs from the Etsy dashboard

They draw on the same shop data and they overlap on purpose.

  • Today is a worklist. Cards appear only when there is something to act on, and disappear when there is not. Read it, act, close it.
  • The Etsy dashboard (/etsy) is the standing view. Panels stay put whether or not they are urgent, so you can go and look at the shop rather than being told what needs attention.

If you only open one of them daily, open Today. If you want to sit with the shop, open the dashboard. See Using the Etsy dashboard for where the numbers come from.

The numbers at the top

Same source and same limits as the dashboard: Etsy publishes shop statistics once a day, so the card names the day it is showing rather than claiming to be live. Views and favourites are day over day movements, not totals.

The most common surprise is a page that says a date other than today. That is correct behaviour, not stale data. Your shop syncs at its own hour, and until it runs, the most recent complete day is the honest thing to show.

What each card wants from you

Your manager. Prepared changes waiting for approval, and money earned by changes you already approved. Nothing has been applied to your shop. See What the Plan can change.

Renewals coming up. Listings that renew within seven days and what Etsy will charge, with low view listings flagged. This is the card that saves money. See Refresh, renew, expire.

Listings flagged for refresh. Listings due an edit, with the reason for each.

Tag anchors, or tag strategy needs work. One or the other, never both. The positive version lists the tags that repeat across your shop. The warning version says what is missing. See Tag anchors explained.

Star Seller. Appears only when your review average is below 4.8, with the size of the gap. See Star Seller and your reviews.

Worth making this week. A trending keyword and the nearest seasonal window, each linking into Create with the idea carried across. See Using Market Intelligence.

”No urgent actions today”

This is a result, not a failure. It means no renewals are due, nothing is flagged for refresh, your tags are consistent, and your reviews are above the threshold.

Two things worth doing on those days: make something new, or look at the numbers properly on the dashboard. The page offers both.

A workable routine

  1. Open Today. If it is empty, go and create.
  2. Deal with renewals first. That is real money and it has a deadline.
  3. Approve or reject prepared changes on listings that get views but no sales.
  4. Leave your best sellers alone unless you have a specific reason.
  5. Take one idea from “worth making this week” if you have capacity.

Ten minutes most days is enough. The page is built so that a quiet day looks quiet rather than manufacturing work.

FAQ

Why is a card missing that was there yesterday? Because it has nothing to say. The renewals card only appears when something renews within seven days, Star Seller only when you are below 4.8, and so on.

Does this page show all my shops? No. It shows the shop selected in the workspace switcher. Switch shops to see another one.

The page says my shop earned nothing today. Check the date on the card. If it names yesterday, that is the last complete day of data, and yesterday may have been quiet. A zero is a real zero for the day being shown.

Is anything on this page acting on my shop automatically? No. Every card either reports a fact or links you somewhere to approve something.

Can my assistant use this page? Yes, if you have shared the workspace with them.
