Using the Etsy dashboard
How to read the /etsy page: where each number comes from, why the headline figures show a named day rather than today, and what every panel is telling you to do next.
Using the Etsy dashboard
The Etsy page (/etsy) is the shop floor: what your shop did, what needs attention, and what is worth making next. It does not create anything on its own. Everything on it is your real Etsy data, pulled and arranged so you can decide where to spend the next hour.
If you have more than one shop connected, the page always shows the shop currently selected in the workspace switcher at the top of the sidebar.
The headline numbers, and the day they describe
The four figures at the top (revenue, orders, views, favourites) come from Etsy, not from an estimate. The important thing to understand is when they were captured.
Etsy does not stream shop statistics in real time. Elistit takes one snapshot per shop per day, at an hour chosen for your shop. So the headline card names the day it is showing you, for example “Thursday, Jul 31 vs the day before”, rather than claiming to be live.
Two consequences worth knowing:
- Before the day’s sync has run, the most recent complete day is the one on show. The card says so. Nothing is broken.
- Views and favourites are daily movements, not totals. Etsy publishes a lifetime counter for each listing; Elistit stores the difference between one day’s counter and the last, which is what gives you a per-day figure at all. Etsy tabulates that counter once a day, and only for active listings, so paused and expired listings contribute nothing while they are down.
Revenue and orders come from your Etsy receipts, so they are tied to the date the order was placed.
Why revenue can read zero on a shop that sells
A zero is a real zero for the day being shown. It is worth checking the date on the card before reading anything into it. A shop that syncs early in the morning is showing you yesterday, and yesterday may have been quiet.
If every figure is zero and the shop is definitely selling, the connection is the thing to check. See My Etsy draft listing didn’t publish for the reconnect steps, which apply to statistics as well.
What each panel is for
Your manager. Appears when there are prepared changes waiting for you, or when approved changes have earned money. Both link into Plan, where you approve or reject each one. Nothing here has been applied to your shop yet.
Renewals coming up. Listings that auto renew within seven days, with an estimate of what Etsy will charge. Etsy’s listing fee is US$0.20 each time a listing is published or renewed, so twenty renewals is about four dollars. The panel flags the ones with fewer than five views in thirty days, because those are the renewals worth questioning: you are paying to keep a listing live that almost nobody is seeing.
Listings flagged for refresh. Etsy favours listings that have been touched recently. These are the ones due for an edit, with the reason given for each. The link takes you to the listing editor.
Tag anchors and tag health. Whether your shop has a consistent tag fingerprint. Shops that earn well tend to use three to six anchor tags across most of their listings. If the panel is warning rather than reporting, it will say what it found.
Star Seller. Shows only when your average review score is below Etsy’s 4.8 threshold, with the gap and the count of reviews sitting at three stars or below.
Worth making this week. A trending keyword and the nearest seasonal window, each with a link that carries the idea straight into Create. See Using Market Intelligence for how those signals are gathered.
Panels appear only when they have something to say. A short page is a shop with nothing urgent on it, not a page that has failed to load.
What you can and cannot do from here
You can review, approve prepared changes, deactivate listings, edit tags in bulk, move listings between sections and start something new.
Publishing a draft happens in your Etsy dashboard. Etsy treats making a listing live as its own step, with its own checks on images, files and shipping, so that stays with Etsy for now. We may bring it into Elistit later.
Sharing the shop with an assistant
If a shop has been shared with you rather than owned by you, this page works exactly the same way.
If you see a banner saying the workspace is temporarily unavailable, your access has not been removed. The shop owner has an action to take on their account, and everything returns once they have taken it.
If the page looks empty
- “Pick a connected Etsy shop”: no shop is selected. Use the workspace switcher, or connect one from Integrations.
- No shops at all: start at Connecting your Etsy shop.
- Panels present but numbers missing: the first statistics sync has not completed yet. It runs once a day, so a shop connected this afternoon will have its first figures tomorrow.
FAQ
Why does the top of the page name a date instead of saying “today”? Because it would not be true. Etsy statistics arrive once a day, so the card tells you which day it is showing. A figure labelled “today” that was captured at half past midnight would be yesterday’s work wearing today’s name.
My numbers have not moved since this morning. They will not. One sync per shop per day. Coming back in an hour will show the same figures.
Do the view counts include my own visits? Etsy counts views, and Elistit reports what Etsy counts. Their definition applies, not ours.
Are any of these numbers estimated or modelled? No. Every figure traces to a real Etsy response captured at a known time. Where we have no data we show an empty state rather than a guess.
Why is a listing missing from the page? Statistics are recorded per listing per day, so a listing added since the last sync has nothing to report yet. Sold out listings also stop accumulating views while they are unavailable.
Can I change how often it syncs? Not currently. The daily cadence matches how often Etsy itself updates the underlying counters, so a faster schedule would re-read the same numbers.
