Your daily briefing
What the Briefing is, where every number on it comes from, why it never touches your shop, and what to do when it looks empty or unchanged.
Your daily briefing
The Briefing is the read of your shop you would do yourself every morning, if you had the time and the patience for spreadsheets. It looks at what sold, what stalled, and what the market is doing, then tells you where it would put your next hour.
It is advice. That is the whole job.
It never changes your shop
The eyebrow at the top says “Advice only” and it means it literally. The Briefing has no write access to Etsy. It cannot edit a title, rotate a tag, change a price, or publish anything.
Changes live one tab across, in the Plan, and even there nothing reaches Etsy until you approve it. If you take one thing from this page: reading your Briefing cannot break anything.
Where each block comes from
The lead read. One sentence on where the money is and what your winners have in common, plus the anchor tags those winners share. If some of your listings are lagging behind that pattern, it offers you the prepared fixes in Plan.
The signal strip. Up to three numbers, and each one only appears if the data behind it exists:
- Time saved this month, measured rather than estimated. See how that is measured, because you should not take an hours-saved claim on trust.
- Your median listing quality score.
- How many listings read like AI filler, which is a nudge to rewrite in your own voice rather than a penalty.
What your studio made. If you have Cadence running, this is the batch it staged or launched, and the reason it gave. Read-only here – the batch itself is managed on the Cadence page.
Today’s agenda. The numbered list, which is the heart of the page.
The detail. Supporting cards, deliberately below the agenda: your money track record, your weakest listings, and your month.
Reading an agenda item
Each item carries a coloured chip naming the kind of move it is, and a smaller “from” chip naming the data it came from – your best-sellers, market trends, your peers, keyword research. That second chip is a link. If you do not believe a recommendation, click it and go look at the source.
Every item has one primary action:
- Make this hands the whole recommendation to the Assistant, which suggests specific designs to build around it. You are not dropped on a blank create form.
- Review in Plan is used for the kinds that are edits to existing listings rather than new products.
Useful and Dismiss are not politeness buttons. They train what gets surfaced next, so a dismissed kind stops crowding your mornings.
The “from this type” chip
Some items carry a teal chip like $340 from this type. Read that carefully, because it is a deliberately narrow claim.
It means: recommendations of this kind have earned your shop that much so far. It does not mean this specific card earned it, and it is not a prediction of what this card will earn. We report it per kind because that is the honest unit – attributing a sale to one line of advice is a claim we cannot stand behind.
Why it might look unchanged
The Briefing rebuilds once a day, as part of your shop’s daily Etsy sync, and that sync runs on your own local hour rather than at midnight somewhere else. So:
- Refreshing the page does not regenerate it. The “Updated” stamp under the heading tells you how old the current read is.
- If you opened it before today’s sync ran, you are looking at yesterday’s, correctly.
Why it might be empty
A briefing is built from performance history. A new shop, or a newly connected one, does not have any yet, so the page says so rather than inventing something to fill the space.
You will start seeing agenda items once there is enough real data to reason from. In the meantime the Assistant can suggest products from your niche and the market alone.
FAQ
Does reading it cost credits? No. The Briefing is free to read on every plan. Credits are only spent when you create something.
Can I get it as an email? Not yet. It lives in the app.
Why did a recommendation disappear? Either you dismissed it, or the shop data moved on and it stopped being true. The agenda reflects your shop as of the last sync, not a permanent to-do list.
It suggested something I already tried. Dismiss it. That is the signal that stops the same kind arriving tomorrow.
