Notification settings

What counts as a follow-up, which emails cannot be switched off and why, and where the in-app banners come from.

Notification settings

Two switches: in-app banners and email. They control the same thing, which is follow-ups, and you can have either, both, or neither.

What a follow-up is

A follow-up is Elistit noticing something and telling you about it. A conversation with the assistant you started and left, a seasonal window worth acting on before it closes, a weekly recap of what moved.

They are prompts, not paperwork. Turning them off costs you nudges, never information you need.

What you cannot switch off

Anything that is a record rather than a nudge keeps sending: account verification, payment receipts, and the message that says your files are ready.

That is deliberate. A receipt you did not get is a problem months later at tax time, and a delivery notice is the thing telling you a product you paid for is finished. Neither is marketing, so neither sits behind a preference.

Marketing email is separate again, and unsubscribes from the link at the bottom of any marketing email rather than from this page.

The two channels

In-app banners appear at the top of the studio and can be dismissed individually. On by default. They are the least intrusive option, since you only see them when you are already working.

Email sends the same follow-ups to your inbox. On by default. Worth keeping if you do not open the studio daily, since a seasonal window is no use noticed a fortnight late.

FAQ

I turned both off. What happens? Follow-ups stop. Receipts, verification and delivery notices carry on, and everything still appears inside the studio where it normally lives, on Today and in the notification bell.

A switch flipped back on its own. That means the save failed and the page reverted rather than showing you a state we had not stored. It will now tell you why. Try again, and if it keeps happening, open a ticket.

Can I get follow-ups somewhere else, like Discord or Slack? Not today. If that would be useful, the Ideas page is the place to say so, since demand there is what decides what gets built.

Do these settings apply per shop? No. They are yours, not the shop’s, so they hold across every workspace you have access to.
