Giving someone access

A delegate is someone you let work in your shop: a VA, a designer, a partner. They sign in with their own account and see your workspace alongside any of their own.

What they can do

Create products, edit listings, publish to Etsy, and use the assistant and market pages for your shop. In practice, everything the day-to-day work needs.

What they cannot do

Anything to do with money. Billing pages, plan changes and credit purchases are owner-only, and the server refuses those actions rather than merely hiding the buttons.

They also cannot see your support tickets. Those threads carry account and billing detail, so they stay with the person who opened them.

Whose credits get spent

Yours. Work done in your shop comes out of your balance, whoever did the clicking. A delegate does not need credits of their own, and does not need a paid plan.

Worth knowing what follows from that:

• Giving someone access is giving them spending power. They cannot buy credits or change your plan, but they can use what you have.
• Watch your balance when someone else is creating, since it now moves without you.
• Your subscription is what grants their access at all. If yours lapses, their access goes with it.

Two ways to remove someone

Revoke ends their access. They lose the workspace the moment you confirm.

Revoke immediately is the stronger version, and it asks you to type the word first. Use it when something is wrong rather than merely finished, because it also reports which of their in-flight work was interrupted, so you can see what was mid-run when the door closed.

The ordinary revoke is the right choice for a contract ending normally.

FAQ

Can I limit them to one part of the shop? Not at the moment. Access is per workspace and covers the whole of it, minus billing. If you run more than one shop, invite them only to the one they work on.

Will they see my other shops? Only the workspaces you invite them to.

What happens to work they already made? It stays. Products, listings and files belong to the shop, not to the person who made them.

They said the invitation never arrived. Check the address on the list, and ask them to look in spam. You can revoke a pending invitation and send it again.

Can a delegate invite someone else? No. Inviting and revoking are owner-only, for the same reason billing is.
